Glen Scotia 2010 Vintage Release Heavily Charred Finish.
A unique limited batch release developed by Glen Scotia and exclusively for the Dutch market.
The batch consists of no fewer than 8 whiskey barrels which are bottled at a cask strength of 56.8%. The lightly peated whiskey is matured in a combination of 1st fill and refill bourbon casks before finishing for 9-12 months in 1st fill heavy char American oak.
In March 2021, the whiskey reached an age of 11 years at the time of bottling. A total of 1918 bottles were bottled, which is not entirely coincidental, the year in which De Monnik Dranken was founded.
Bottling Serie: Campbelltown Cross
The packaging design features the Campbeltown Cross. The iconic Campbeltown Cross is a stone cross that stands in the center of the town and marks the birth of the historic town. The cross head and carvings are thought to date from the late 1300s and it depicts a number of Celtic carvings, including the mermaid said to have been seen in the waters off Campbeltown as recently as 1811.
The sculpture originally comes from a church outside Machrihanish. It is believed that the cross was moved to Campbeltown in the early 17th century when Campbeltown became a burgh. The cross served as the town's market cross, which historically gave it the right to hold a regular market at that location.
