HISTORY
Constantine the Great (Roman Emperor 306 - 337 AD) was the first Roman Emperor to convert to Christianity. His reign marked the transition from classical antiquity to the Middle Ages. In 330 Byzantium became the new capital of the Roman Empire and was renamed Constantinople in his honour.
