【Product details】

This iron kettle for tea ceremonies (chadogu) was crafted by the esteemed kettle master Sato Seiko, the 9th generation of a long-standing lineage of craftsmen. The Sato family’s iron casting business was founded in 1735 by the first-generation Kihachi. Specializing in tea kettles (cha no yu kama) and iron kettles (tetsubin), the workshop has been passed down through the generations, with Sato Seiko inheriting and continuing this proud tradition. This particular kettle features a dragon and thunder cloud (unryū) motif, symbolizing power and strength in Japanese culture. It comes with its original wooden box (tomobako), ensuring its authenticity and historical value.
