This is a rare history book called "Ashikaga Family Mirror" published in 1836 (Tenpo 7). The book serves as a roster and genealogical record of the samurai of the Ashikaga and related clans. It details the samurai and aristocratic houses, their crests and roles, making it a valuable resource for researchers of the Edo period (1603-1868) and enthusiasts of feudal Japanese history.
The book is bound in traditional Japanese binding (watoji) and the yellowed cover shows signs of wear from age, adding to its authentic antique character. Contents include family crests, organizational charts and commentary, all beautifully preserved with handwritten text and illustrations.

The details of the sculpture are not very finely worked. Tis apllies to the feet and hands of the riding boy and also the method the rider is fixed to the ox.
