二代 松田箕山 Matsuda Kizan 2nd (b1940)
His real name was Matsuda Isao. In 1958, he was a classmate of Matsuda Etsuko, a grandson of the first Kizan, and began training at the age of 18 to ensure that the Minoh ware technique would not be discontinued. At the age of 20, he married Etsuko and took the surname Matsuda. He later succeeded as the second-generation Kizan and inherited the techniques of the first generation.
箕面焼 Minoh ware
Minoh Ware was founded in 1921, inspired by the fiery autumn leaves in the deep autumn mountains, and wishing to create pottery directly from this scenery. After a long period of trial and error, the Minoh ware of today was born in order to express the unique red colour that is the characteristic of Minoh ware. Many of the pieces are full of originality, such as the earthenware bells in the shape of the Chinese zodiac, which receive orders from all over the country every year.
