Overall size with the frame is 48cm x 36cm x 4cm and the painting measuring 40cm x 30cm A charming late 18th to early 19th century oil on canvas landscape of a beagle dog watching a game bird. From a private UK collection we think the painting dates from circa 1800 and is a lovely composition. Condition report: The original canvas has been laid onto a new canvas approximately 80 years ago . There is fine craquelure through the painting commensurate with its age. The paint surface is stable and even and the canvas is in good tension . The later ebonised frame is in good clean condition. Please refer to the notes below regarding frames. As such any damages to the frame itself, that do not affect the integrity of the artwork, cannot be accepted as a valid reason to open a claim or request a cancellation.
