【Product details】

This unique picnic bento set from the early Showa period is designed to be stored in a wooden storage box with a carrying handle. The storage box has a slot-in mechanism that securely holds the set in place. When the sliding panel on the inside of the storage box lid is opened, it reveals four small plates neatly stored within. Inside the box, there is a three-tiered jubako (stackable lunch box), a small lidded box, a larger lidded box, and a tin flask. The plates and lidded boxes have a vermilion interior finish, while the exterior showcases a natural wood grain pattern.

The set shows signs of wear, such as scuffs, stains, minor scratches, chipped and cracked lacquer, and discoloration due to age. Two of the jubako tiers have slightly curved corners, with three areas showing significant splits and gaps. The lids of all the boxes also have a slight curvature. Additionally, the lower right corner of the storage box lid has a chipped section of wood. Please refer to the photos for further details on the condition.
