Antique Victorian silverplated hot water urn / samovar in Regency style.
Bulbous campagna urn-form body on waisted stem and square base that is raised on four ball feet.
Acanthus leaf handles and spigot with floral and scroll decoration; the rim has an applied cast border of scrolls, flowers and shells in typical Rococo fashion, the stepped domed lid has a similarly styled knop foliate finial.
The column has a fitted pull-out spirit burner that has two apertures - one for the wick and the other to add fuel. The burner bears a plaque inscribed "Newens" - this samovar may have possibly been used in Robert Newens' famous tea room, founded in 1830.

Good antique condition, spigot works. Several dents to body; the burner insert is dented around the edges so don’t sit flush in the opening; some light wear to silvering; split to supporting column; soldering inside; surface crack on the interior wall; surface crack to front of burner.
