Martin Štrba (*1961) is an important multi-genre personality of contemporary European film. And although she is perhaps better known to the public his work as a cameraman in the film and his creative film collaboration with Polish director Agniezska Holland, his is also exceptional photographic work.

The "Slovak new wave" is a term that includes several Slovak photographers who came to Prague in the late 1970s and studied at FAMU. In the first half of the 80s, they broke through with their playful, imaginative creations a look at the photograph from that time. They were - Miro Švolík, Vasiľ Stanko, Tono Stano, Rudo Prekop, Kamil Varga and Peter Župník. They are dedicated to the staged photography, erotica, reject external reality and make reality visible internal, they are ironic towards the world and towards themselves and let themselves be influenced by Surrealism, Dadaism and Poetism.
