This unique ceramic decorative box, created by the renowned Japanese ceramic artist Saeki Moriyoshi in 1997, features a striking tree inlay (*zōgan*) design. The rectangular shape of the box and its natural earthy tones give it a timeless appeal, reminiscent of a serene landscape at dusk. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the box's surface showcases intricate inlay work with a textured glaze that enhances the depiction of bare trees against a twilight sky. The artist has signed and sealed the base of the box, and the inside of the original wooden box lid also bears Saeki Moriyoshi's handwritten signature, seal, and the date "1997."

Saeki Moriyoshi, born in 1949 as the son of sculptor Saeki Sumio, is a distinguished Japanese ceramic artist. Saeki's works have been exhibited in several prestigious exhibitions, including the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, where his innovative inlay pottery works first debuted.
