Produced by triple distillation, this version reveals Amrut to be fruitier than usual. More than flirting with the world of Irish whiskeys, its deeply fruity character makes a strong claim to exoticism. On the other hand, beautiful herbaceous, floral, spicy or even resinous sequences inevitably take us back to the foothills of the Himalayas on the fertile plains where the barley used by the distillery grows.
TASTING NOTES :
Non-peaty
Color: old gold.
Nose: very close to malted barley, the initial nose quickly evolves into a richly fruity, gourmand register (apple pie, crushed almonds). On aeration, it becomes vanilla and heady (lily, tuberose). Long after, a profusion of exotic fruits (passion fruit, banana, pineapple, mango) and sweet spices (cinnamon, ginger) lift the aromatic palette.
Palate: lively, full of class. Intensely fruity (guava, persimmon, apricot), the attack on the palate covers the taste buds with a fine layer of mixed licorice and vanilla. Magnificently herbaceous (verbena, savory), floral (lime blossom) and tertiary (lichen, moss), the mid-palate is incredibly delicate to the touch. As with the nose, the aftertaste lifts the palette ever higher.
Finish: long, full of freshness. At the start of the finish, cocoa powder and pine resin gently settle on the palate. At once minty
