菊池小琴 Kikuchi Shokin (1889-1926) Female painter of the Meiji and Taisho periods. Real name is Takayo. Born in Ehime. Started painting at the age of 11 and went to Osaka to study under Maki Ozan. Later studied Nanshu-ga under Miyoshi Aiseki and Isaka Toin. Studied poetry and writing under Fujisawa Nangaku. Later studied under the Nanga master Komuro Suiun. However, She died young due to illness.
