A very fine antique italian 4/4 violin, labeled Anno 1742 Carlo Bergonzi fece in Cremona. The instrument is in ready to play condition with many bad repaired cracks on top, good ebony and rosewood set up, master made bridge and new strings. The violin has an excellent straight high grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of strongly flamed maple with matched sides and scroll. The purfling is professionally executed and the edges are masterfully done. The varnish of deep brown-reddish color remains in good condition. The whole length of the violin is 592 mm and the back 355 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 168 mm; middle bouts: 111 mm; lower bouts: 206 mm. The sound is very good, suitable for soloist. Shipping by DHL or FedEx is possible and would be claimed according to your personal requirements
