Carl de Keyzer - Trinity - 2008

"I want to question the images that are in our memory. There is always a double level in my work; what you see is true and at the same time not true." - Carl De Keyzer - Fantastic photobook by Magnum photographer Carl de Keyzer. A Magnum nominee in 1990, he became a full member in 1994. New, mint, unread - COLLECTOR'S COPY. TRUE FIRST ORIGINAL EDITION - in English and Dutch (published also in other languages). The artist is also famous for "Trona" (Martin Parr, The Photobook, vol 2, page 319. 802 photo books of the M.+M. Auer collection, page 782). PLEASE ENJOY the ONE-SELLER-AUCTION by 5Uhr30.com (Ecki Heuser, Cologne, Germany) - with INTERNATIONAL PHOTOBOOKS from my PRIVATE COLLECTION and from RECENT ACQUISITATIONS. "Carl De Keyzer, born 1958, membertackles large-scale themes through an accumulative, expansive approach. He builds up narratives through collected images, which often interact with text (taken from his travel diaries). In a series of large-format prints, he has covered India, the collapse of the Soviet Union and – more recently – modern-day power and politics in North Korea. His seminal project, God, Inc., captured religious life on the margins of American society. A basic premise in much of his work is that, in overpopulated communities everywhere, disaster has already struck, and infrastructures are on the verge of collapse. Born in Belgium, De Keyzer’s career as a freelance photographer began in 1982 while he was supporting himself as a photography instructor at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. At the same time, his interest in the work of other photographers led him to co-found and co-direct the XYZ-Photography Gallery. De Keyzer has worked on assignment for publications including The New York Times, TIME Asia, Rolling Stone, LA Times and The Guardian. Commercial clients include Coca-Cola, Ernst & Young, Hennessy, Diesel and Davos World Economic Forum." (Magnum website) IF YOU WIN MORE THAN 1 OF MY BOOKS IN THIS AUCTION, YOU WILL PAY ONLY 1 X SHIPPING COSTS - WORLDWIDE. Benteli, Bern. 2008. First german edition, first printing.
