Michiko Kon (1955-) is a photographer who creates objects by combining foodstuffs such as fish and fruit, and everyday objects such as shoes and hats, and photographs them in the natural light of her own residence to create a fantastic world of work. This exhibition features a total of 100 works, including color and Polaroid photographs, from her early representative works such as "Octopus + Melon" and "Mr. Cabbage" to her recent works such as "Cocoon Girl" and "Sister Bambi" and her latest work, "Miko (maiden)". The volume also includes a long interview with the artist, a discussion of his work, a list of his works, and a history of exhibitions. This definitive edition traces the more than 40 years of activities of this unique photographer, who has been highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad, including winning the 16th Ihei Kimura Photography Award (1991).
