Vintage sleepy eyes Steiff lying/sitting brown tabby cat is named Snurry and was produced 1964 to 1966 only in this smallest ever made size.
Rare old Steiff cat Snurry here has her Steiff chest tag and her original silk bow (altough this needs cleaning).
Due to the very short time of production, you can imagine, how rare a vintage collectable Steiff Snurry cat is nowadays!
Old Steiff Snurry cat has no glass eyes like other Steiff animals, her eyes are stitched to appear closed, a typical cat thing, you can almost hear her purr – this may have led to her naming; ‘schurren’ = German for the purr - sound cats make, and ‘Snurry’ may derive from it.

Our vintage Steiff Snurry cat measures 15 cm / 6 inches from the middle of her head over her back to the tail.

Vintage Steiff Snurry is firmly stuffed with wood wool (excelsior), her beige and brown mohair is hand brushed, and she has a swivel head, plastic whiskers, and an embroidered nose.
Small old Steiff Snurry cat is in reasonable condition!
