Large "heavy duty" lifting steel pulley system including the original jute rope. A great industrial nautical object, handmade around the 1880's by craftsmen. These large and very decorative lifting pulley's are becoming increasingly rare. Provenance: comes out of the International harbour of Rotterdam The pulley system is still in the original and unrestored condition. Characteristic of these type of pulleys/lifting blocks from this period are the antique square locking nuts. The handcrafted metal is robust and solid.
