Lorenz Hutschenreuther was a pioneering figure in the world of porcelain. Born on May 8, 1817, in Hohenberg and passing away on October 8, 1886, in Würzburg, he left an indelible mark on the porcelain industry. In 1857, he obtained a concession from the Bayreuth government to establish the first porcelain factory in Selb, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey.

Notably, August 10, 1857, holds great significance as it laid the foundation for the entire porcelain industry in Selb. Lorenz Hutschenreuther's dedication to crafting high-quality white porcelain set the stage for other porcelain pioneers in the region. His decision to break away from his family's business in Hohenberg and establish his own firm in Selb marked a pivotal moment.

Through relentless effort, keen business acumen, and a commitment to quality, Lorenz Hutschenreuther achieved remarkable success.
