Apple 100% working "COLOUR CLASSIC", AZERTY keys – including SOFTWARE & GAMING PACK - Macintosh - Com caixa de substituição

[ ATTENTION – this cult Macintosh is NOT often sold … ] Therefore … take your chance to finally obtain a fully-working "Colour Classic" without "cracks". [ BE AWARE: AZERTY keyboard & FRENCH operating system ] >> FORWORD Please don't make any assumptions, but READ the (full) accompanying text – and look at (all) the photos "very carefully" to avoid disappointments.
“In many ways, the "Colour Classic" is the compact Mac everyone’s been waiting for since, well, since 1984.” (MacUser, April 1993)

. // WHAT MAKES THE COLOUR CLASSIC A CULT COLLECTABLE?

 The COLOUR CLASSIC was THE FIRST MAC with a built-in "colour monitor"! Apple's first colour compact Macintosh, the "Colour Classic" ultimately set the stage for the modern iMacs. Essentially a "Performa platform computer" inside a retro Mac body, even today the "Colour Classic" has "a-cult-following" not seen since the original Macintosh.
– The "Colour Classics" claim to fame is a tiny, remarkably crisp 10″ SONY Trinitron Colour CRT. Nice as it was to have color, the pedestrian performance due to the 16-bit motherboard earns the "Colour Classic" the Compromised Mac-label. Yet despite poky performance, the "Colour Classic" is a perennial favorite: it’s cute!

 – The "Colour Classic" has an "internal microphone" above the screen and a "readily accessible motherboard": just open the rear panel and slide out the board for upgrades. You can control "contrast" using controls on the front of the computer – no need to open control panels.

– Unlike other compact Macs, the "Colour Classic" can be shut down with the POWER KEY on the keyboard (the Color Classic is also turned on with the keyboard power key).
 // WHAT IS OFFERED?

 Before continuing reading, ask yourself:
"What is a RETRO-COMPUTING without Software & Games"?

Being an Apple enthusiast, I have collected RARE and VALUABLE hardware and software for my co-sentimental Apple companions. The lucky Macintosh Apple enthusiast can supplement his/her collection with this legendary collector's item: the “Colour Classic” packed with "tons of pre-installed software and games of yesteryear", ready to use – and to give you a glimp of Apple's history. Furthermore. As a free gift you get the RARE (and hard-to-find) "world-famous" pixel-art picture of "Steve Jobs" (it's waiting for you on the hard disk*). // IMPORTANT – WHY BUY FROM ME?
(instead of other sellers)

 I am a Mac user from way back in the Legacy Era. I offer Vintage Apple computers as I would buy them myself. My admiration for Steve Jobs' legacy is so great that I want the Macs I sell, to stand "the test of time". Furthermore I only sell items I have "passion" for.

Hardware-wise, all my sold computers are completely disassembled, cleaned – and, if necessary, repaired – in order to extend their lifespan. In fact, the Motherboard and Logicboard of this specific Macintosh Computer are RECAPPED. So you can enjoy this machine for the next decades to come.

– DUST: the inside of a 30-year-old computer looks the same as "the collection-container of a vacuum cleaner" (read: a dust bunny). And as you know "dust" can ruin your electronics;

– LEAKS: 30-year-old batteries will someday leak, causing irreversible damage to the computer. The old battery is removed and replaced by a brand-new battery;

– RECAPPING: all necessary electrolytic capacitors are replaced!

>> Important-to-know.
 A "Color Classic" usually doesn't function anymore when it's not fully-recapped!

 – REFURBISHED: the floppy drive is refurbished. This includes "floppy drive lubrication". Therefore the "internal floppy drive" works like a charm (formatting, reading and writing disks and of-course ejecting*). Usually the "EJECT* mechanism" fails. So the famous paperclip method is NOT needed for this Mac!

Long-Story Short. Computers from other vendors may look the same on the outside. I can guarantee you that the inside is very different! So if you want to enjoy your investment for as long as possible, choosing "wisely" is advisable. All configuration is done. So the mac boots up immediately. Note: – PRAM battery: because of strikter "customs restrictions", I am no longer allowed to provide the vintage computers with a PRAM battery. PS: you don't need a PRAM battery to operate this computer. The battery only holds certain settings such as clock, date and mouse speed. If desired, I can inform you about the necessary battery Long-Story Short. Computers from other vendors may look the same on the outside. I can guarantee you that the inside is very different! So if you want to enjoy your investment for as long as possible, choosing "wisely" is advisable.

// GERM-FREE "APPLE EXTENDED KEYBOARD II (M3501) & MOUSE (M2706
The Macintosh comes with the accompanying superior “Apple Extended Keyboard II". FYI: this more expensive – and more extended keyboard was pre-packaged with Apple Professional Desktops models. Included is also the rounded (ergonomic) Apple Desktop Bus Mouse II (ADB).

These objects alone are already worth a fortune on auction websites. The keyboard (and mouse) are completely disassembled and cleaned professionally (see pictures). In my opinion it is my responsibility (as a seller) to provide a Germ-Free keyboard (a 2018 study found that 96% of the keyboards were contaminated with bacteria). So, I think we can agree that nobody wants a nasty, infected keyboard.

Extra information: ALL KEYS WORK!
(lot of vintage ADB keyboard's don't fully work – this one is "fully repaired*")!

 // CUSTOMIZE YOUR SET-UP: ENGLISH or FRENCH KEYBOARD
Choose an English, French or German (QWERTZ) keyboard.
Although "English" (QWERTY) keyboard is the default, I thought it was time to serve my "French" & "German"-speaking Apple colleagues too. You can also choose the exceptional AZERTY or QWERTZ keyboard instead. "French-speaking Apple fans" … this is your chance ;)

 Send me a message "immediately after payment" if you are interested in this computer – but with a an AZERTY or QWERTZ keyboard instead. When NOT receiving a message (immediately after payment), I will ship the default ENGLISH keyboard.

Be aware that the Operating System (System 7) and all applications and games are ALWAYS "English"!

 This 100 % working, professionally checked “Vintage” bundle includes “working software*”.

 // SOFTWARE & GAMING PACK To give you a start, the following RARE software (and games) are installed on the hard disk (English versions):

A clean install of SYSTEM PRO 7 (after a hard disk check-up), including the installation of:

 – MacPaint 2;

 // SOME HISTORY & CONTEXT This year (2023) this CULT "COLOUR CLASSIC" celebrates its THIRTIETH BIRTHDAY. This specific Macintosh was sold in 1993.

From its compact size to its crisp 10″ SONY Trinitron Colour display, the Mac Colour Classic's adorable form factor is one to be celebrated. The "Colour Classic" was one of a few models that represented something "CURVY" and "STREAMLINED". For me the "Colour Classics" "purity-of-line" is truly special.

Look at how "its face" tilts up towards you, at once a smart practical trick to make the screen easier to see on a computer which will sit below your eye-line, and an evocation of nothing so much as a puppy looking up at you, begging to play.

 The previous monochrome CLASSIC was comparable to the Mac SE/30 (= a streamlined and curvy repackage of the Macintosh SE/30) – and featured several improvements over the aging Macintosh PLUS, which it replaced. It was up to 25% faster than the Plus, and included an Apple SuperDrive 3.5-inch floppy disk drive as standard.

It’s easy to pick up and transport from place to place. And oh, how lovely that handle feels! The thickness and solidity of the handle that you curl your fingers around, which both makes it easy to grip and makes it feel substantial, nudges you to reflect every time you pick up the Classic that it is a quality piece of hardware.

That feeling persists when you switch it on. The switch itself – easy to locate by touch – makes the most pleasing, positive, unmistakable thunk when you flick it. And that screen! That dinky, sharp, perfect little screen!

It’s clean and spare and elegant, it still has bags of personality and charm. So yes, I completely adore the "Color Classic" form factor. It’s such a captivating, self-contained bundle of happiness. So compact, so totable.

The Classic was described by MacWeek as a "fine replacement for the Macintosh Plus" that best embodies "the original Macintosh vision" six-and-a-half-years-later.

– a 100%-working the Macintosh COLOUR CLASSIC
 Manufactured May 1993

 Serial: #SG3190BPC2D
> refurbished 1.44 MB "SuperDrive" disk drive (assembled in Ireland);

 – Apple Keyboard II (Model M0487, Made in Ireland);

 – Apple Desktop Mouse II (one Button Vintage ADB), Model: M2706;

 The Macintosh COLOUR CLASSIC has the following built-in ports:
 – ADB (Apple Desktop Bus) port;
 – DB-25 SCSI port;
 – serial modem port;
 – serial printer port
; – sound output.

 The COLOUR CLASSIC is arguably one of the products that can be said to have turned Apple’s fortunes around. And that makes this Apple Computer extremely RARE and EXCEPTIONAL … and therefore a good investment. In addition, the COLOUR CLASSICs that are typically sold are very "yellowed" . This specimen was used in a UV light poor and smoke free environment. Therefore: it is still considerably GRAY.

 // VINTAGE COMPUTER EXPECTATIONS
 First-of-all. Please have realistic expectations when buying a vintage (retro) computer.

 As these are "vintage items", they are being sold as. Normal signs of use and wear. But as an experienced connoisseur I can guarantee that these items are in VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT condition (always keeping in mind their age). The numerous images are part of the meticulous description. Thus: judge yourself! PS/ some tiny scratches (and other ware-out) are difficult to capture on picture (but they are there … thus: again please have realistic expectations!). Furthermore. Be aware. All mechanical parts (including fan, floppy disk, etc) make more noice than you are use to, compared with modern equipment. But this is “normal” behavior. Obviously this is a 30 year old machine. The speed is therefore corresponding.
 – In addition, the COLOUR CLASSICs that are typically sold have several cracks. This specimen has no single crack in the plastic. That's unique! You probably won't find another crack-free Colour Classic today! Note: the "connections" plastic cover @ the back (of the mac) is missing (see detailled picture).
// IMPORTANT – A NOTE ON YELLOWED PLASTICS!
 Some words on the yellowing.

 Old computer cases are made of ABS plastics which contain at that time "BROMINE". The element bromine reacts over the time of years with UV light and causes (not-even) "yellowing"*. Take into account the fact that the plastic case shows "some stains" en "cosmetical imperfections" that are unfortunately difficult to capture. But they are there!
Please, if you find the aforementioned "stains" and "imperfections" a problem, it is recommended that you do NOT bid on this item. Again … the yellowed plastic* is not easy to capture on camera. FYI/ Experienced collectors love the "aging-bromine-yellowing". You can compare it with "patina" on vintage furnitures. For connoisseurs it transforms the-surface-of-a-piece from the ordinary to the exceptional – and it tells a story … and brings on the appeal of objects that show their age openly. But again … it is important to know that this specific Mac has PATINA. Please check all close-up pictures! Final note: compared with other 4-MB macs this item is quite "gray" (and not yellowed/aged a lot). It's in pristine condition! // PACKAGING & SHIPPING
The COLOUR CLASSIC bundle is packaged securely and carefully for safe shipment.
 Moreover, the CLASSIC bundle is shipped INSURED because of its precious value.
Because of the precious content extra attention is paid to the CUSTOM packaging.
The extra cost is included in the shipping price.
