From the series "Series: Contorni delle figure del Giudizio Universale dipinto da Michel Angelo" (Outlines of the figures of the Last Judgement painted by Michelangelo)". ; Fourteen of fifteen etched line engraving plates after Michelangelo's Last Judgement in the Sistine chapel in the Vatican in Rome , Italy. Missing whole scene. In original album (in a poor way) Some sheets very worn at the edges. Important for the purveying of Michelangelo's vision into Germany via Metz' interpretation of Ghisi's prints of the same subject Biography Engraver and painter, b. Bonn, son of the painter Johann Metz; Bartolozzi pupil in London by 1781. Exh. RA 1781-94, and SA 1783. Major publication the 'Imitations of Ancient and Modern Drawings' (1st ed 1789, 2nd ed with text 1798). Moved to Rome in 1801 where remained to death on 16 December 1827. (British Museum) Condition is fair. Water stains. Yellowing paper. Foxing. Brown stains. Several creases.

Engraver and painter, b. Bonn, son of the painter Johann Metz; Bartolozzi pupil in London by 1781. Exh. RA 1781-94, and SA 1783. Major publication the 'Imitations of Ancient and Modern Drawings' (1st ed 1789, 2nd ed with text 1798). Moved to Rome in 1801 where remained to death on 16 December 1827.
