Rice Planting 田うえ - NO RESERVE - Kasamatsu Shirō 笠松紫浪 (1898-1991) - Published by Unsodo - Japonia

Handsome view of rice planting in the magnificent nature is depicted vividly. The famers planting rice in flooded fields, placing the tender green plants in neat rows. Behind them, a farmer plows a paddy with a horse, preparing it for planting. The majestic mountains are reflected on the water in the rice fields. Beautifully composed with a lovely color palette, rich blue tones with warm green accents. The changing scenery with the seasons is depicted with Kasamatsu's rich sense of color. A lovely shin-hanga design which would make a lovely framed display.
