Cristina García Rodero began photographing with passion as a teenager (which she has not abandoned) the festivals, rites and liturgies that, like many, she believed were going to disappear from rural Spain with the end of Franco, which she already sensed. They were wrong. If there is one day every year when the cities are empty and the towns are packed, it is August 15, the Assumption of the Virgin. From the efforts and sacrifices of 15 years, Hidden Spain was born in 1989, the book of her life, which placed her at the forefront of the international photography showcase and changed the destiny of the Lunwerg publishing house.
