A beautiful Zsolnay green blue eosin glazed bull by Lajos Mack.
The bull is standing in a attacking position with his head bend down and its horns pointing forward.
A powerful and expressive statue in the art deco style.
The mark on the bottom was used between 1924 and 1970 while the makers mark is from Lajos Mack (1876-1963) one of the top designers who worked for Zsolnay,
It is one of the best examples of Zsolnay eosin glaze I have seen. The colors are extremely beautiful .
The pieces is intact and has no damage.
The botton has discoloured patches of glaze burned to grey from where the piece has been standing in the oven. Some of the glaze was damaged when the piece was removed from the oven and was coloured by hand.

The Zsolnay factory was established in 1853 by Miklós Zsolnay in Pécs, Hungary. Ten years later, his son Vilmos Zsolnay joined the company and became its manager and director. He led the factory to worldwide recognition by demonstrating its innovative products at world fairs and international exhibitions.
