It is a tribute to the people of the border, for having smuggled their way of life. The “Proibido” comes from grapes from Vinhas Velhas do Douro Superior.
Proibido Grande Reserva originates from Vinhas Velhas between 40 and 80 years old from Vila Nova de Foz Côa and located in small plots facing north or east between 250m and 500m altitude.
This wine presents a well-marked black fruit on the nose with great intensity, toasted notes and spices. Well balanced in the mouth with a very long, persistent body and well-buffed tannins.
It goes well with strong meats and cheeses, game and oven roasts. It can be consumed immediately or over the next 15 years.
