Hans Holbein the Younger (1497/1498–1543) was a German-Swiss painter and printmaker renowned for his detailed portraits, which captured the realism and character of his subjects. He is best known for his portraits of prominent figures at the court of Henry VIII in England, as well as for his illustrations for "The Dance of Death" series.
