Rare anthology about Shunga ( erotic Japanese woodcut art) published by the famous editor Gakken in 1991
3130 copies have been edited and never reprinted , this one is N° 260 . Huge box : 45 x 32 x 7 cm

Precious box with a COA by Gakken ( the number is hand written with orange ink , you will note smalls bad folds on it, photos ) , 4 slipcases with embossed paper for the 4 best masters of Shunga : K. Utamaro, K. Hokusai, T. Kiyonaga and K. Sunsho
Each has his name in Kanji on the slipcase , 12 plates ( 41 x 28, 5 cm ) for each
There is a photographic index at the begining for each . The plates are protected in double-pages ( yellow embossed paper )


It contained a book with hardback green cloth cover with 61 pages pagined of commentaries in Japanese langage , with calendars to explain the evolution of this art through the time , At the end of the book are 10 pages in English langage to explain this art , and particulary the style of each master.

. The cardbox is 49 x 36 x 8 cm , is worn with bumps, scratches and 2 corners badly repaired with tape ( photos) You will note that Hokusai 's slipcase has a bump at the back , inside the double-pages have very slight horns, the plates stayed clear.

You will note that the plates chosen by Gakken aren't the most known of the masters, and it's a good thing as we find the most of the time the same works, It's the particularity of this edition .
