The pastel painting relates to the Mary Magdalen in Antonio da Correggio’s composition of the Madonna and Child with Saints Jerome and Mary Magdalen in the Galleria Nazionale, Parma. The Madonna of Saint Jerome (Italian: Madonna di San Girolamo), also known as The Day (Il giorno), is a painting by Correggio, which he made around 1528. It is one of the highlights of his oeuvre and of the collection of the Galleria Nazionale in Parma. (Last two images)
In fair condition, some foxing on the paper (brown spots), small chip in the plaster on the upper part of the frame.
