Beautiful and rare example of Irene Rochard's animal sculptures. Two Impalas made of spelter with dark brown patination, posed naturistically upon a light green agate base, with brown and black marble sides. Made in France around 1930.
Signed on base. No splits in the spelter. Some minor wear on the animals, and very small chips on the agate base, one corner of base slightly chipped. (see photos)
The animals are bolted through the base, and a little loose, but I have not tightened the nuts for fear of damage to the sculpture.
Please note that this is a very heavy piece (12kg), hence the higher shipping costs.
