Kenkai Sumo (also called 'fist sumo' or 'fist meeting') is a drinking game that was introduced from China around 1630 and became popular. Two people sit facing each other, flex and straighten the fingers of their right hands and quickly put them out, and the first person to guess the total of the numbers shown by both hands is the winner (today's Janken is a variation of this). Various innovations were incorporated into the game, such as making a small sumo ring and incorporating speeches from the event actors.
On a Japanese washi paper, in good condition. Imprint is very sharp and detailed. The two pages joined with a washi paper. Soiling of the margins. Some vague yellow spots/stains.
