The estate

Château d’Yquem's reputation has been built over 400 years, with a high point in 1855 when it was recognised as a Premier Cru Classé Supérieur in the official classification established by request of Emperor Napoleon III for the Paris Exposition Universelle. The only wine estate to have achieved this honour, Yquem sits unchallenged among the legendary great wines.

The vines

Château d’Yquem has around one hundred hectares in production, planted with 75% Semillon and 25% Sauvignon Blanc. The Ciron, a tributary of the Garonne River that is essential to the creation of Sauternes wines, provides an exceptional micro-climate for the vines on the estate. It is, in fact, thanks to the action of the autumnal morning mists, just before the harvest, which leads to the appearance of the Botrytis Cinerea “noble rot”. Other than the characteristics of the “terroir” and climate, Château d’Yquem's reputation also owes much to expertise and excellence. With a drastically limited yield, Château d’Yquem produces Sauternes wines made prestigious by their rarity.

2019 Privilegio:
The magic of the Irpinia terroir lives again in the Feudi di San Gregorio wines, which have always been a point of reference for viticulture not only in Campania, but throughout southern Italy. And it is therefore truly with joy that we approach this Fiano Passito DOC “Privilegio”, a wine which right from its name makes us understand how we must prepare ourselves for a truly unique experience; it is in fact an exemplary label in presenting a structure where the balance between sweetness, flavor and acidity creates a sublime and impeccable sip. The grapes are dried for about 8 weeks, then fermented and matured in barriques for 6-8 months. A Passito where tradition and innovation mix in a vortex of unique sensations, truly not to be missed.

Superfornøyd med handelen. Rask og knirkefri levering. Godt pakket inn. For en enkel Nordmann som er vant med potetsprit, var dette som å komme til himmelen. Den beste vinen jeg noensinne har smakt.

The bottles of port that were delivered both spoiled. Very cloudy and stinky. Cork is completely decayed. Buying these bottles was very bad. Wonder if this was not known to the seller

Fast delivery and well packed, but unfortunately both (Graham's 30y Tawny) are in totally undrinkable condition. Buyers risk & mistake but will not buy again. As expected price was too good to be true
