Marvellous tea cup and saucer, produced by Herend - “Rothschild” Collection, well known hand painted pattern with birds perched among branches and scattered insects, gilt banding, in excellent condition.

This pattern was first created in 1850 for the Rothschild family of Europe and is considered to be the epitome of hand painting on porcelain.
Twelve different motifs portray a 19th century tale about Baroness Rothschild who lost her pearl necklace in the garden of her Vienna residence.
Several days later it was found by her gardener, who saw birds playing with it in a tree.

Both pieces are marked with blue Herend shield mark and numbered and are in excellent condition, NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs, please see pictures as they are part of description.

Dimensions according to Herend standards:

1 x Tea cup: diameter with handles 13 cm, height: 6 cm
1 x Saucer: diameter 15,5 cm, height 2,2 cm


The lot will be very carefully and safely packed !
