A big Chinese Meissen style famille rose and bianco sopra bianco 'European subject' porcelain dish (platter, charger). China, 18th century, Qing dynasty, Qianlong (1736-1795, 乾隆) period. Rare item in great condition! Finely painted to the interior in famille rose palette, central shaped cartouche depicting a harbour view featuring European buildings, two merchants standing, man carrying barrels from the boat, ships under full sails and birds, all within gilt line, followed by bianco-sopra-bianco floral decor. Boarder with four large flower sprays and gilt line between black next to the edge. Top-rim gilt. Exterior not decorated. Nice finished ivory-color foot-rim. Provenance: private collection, Netherlands. Conditions report: plate in excellent condition. Minor firing faults possible. Wear to the gilding on rim.
