At 14, the young Vera von Lehndorff studied art in Hamburg and Florence. Of
At 1.85 m tall, she was spotted for her blonde beauty by photographer Ugo Mulas,
and begins a career as a model.

In Paris, she met Eileen Ford, founder of the agency of the same name, who
convinced to settle in New York in 1961, but Vera's career struggled to take off, aggrieved
by its large size which is not yet popular.

Back in Munich, she then imagines a clever subterfuge: she invents origins
Slavs, and now presents himself under the pseudonym Veruschka.
An aura of mystery which earned him numerous contracts, to the point of winning almost
of 10,000 dollars per day.
