Queen Emma of the Netherlands, born on August 2, 1858, was the daughter of George Victor, Prince of Waldeck and Pyrmont. She married King William III of the Netherlands in 1879, becoming queen consort. Emma was known for her strong character, deep sense of duty, and dedication to the Dutch monarchy. After William III’s death in 1890, Emma served as regent for her young daughter, Queen Wilhelmina, until 1898. Her regency was marked by stability and wise governance, helping to restore the monarchy's reputation. Emma was deeply involved in charitable work and was beloved by the Dutch people for her compassion and care. She remained an important advisor to Wilhelmina even after her regency ended. Queen Emma passed away on March 20, 1934, leaving behind a legacy of strength and dedication to her country. Her influence on the Dutch royal family is still remembered and celebrated today
