A soft and souple pure linen bed linen with very generous dimensions of being 2m30 wide which for the early 20th Century was highly unusual and these widths would only be commissioned by the well off French families. They already had large beds at 1m60 or even wider in their homes whereas the average French families would sleep on 0.90m and 1m20 beds. The designs on the bedlinen look almost "like birds in flight" holding a small branch. There is very generous pea embroidery. There is fine and elegant open thread work which goes up at the sides. A rather elegant bed linen . PLEASE NOTE: There has been a small repair and is covered with two pieces of "auto collant" which has been sewn onto the fabric. It is very fortunate as it is situated at the bottom at 60cm from the end and 15cm from the sides and thus when the bed is made it will be tucked under the mattress. See 2 last photos. The bed linen has been washed and ironed. Vintage linen have already known a first life and can therefore have slight traces of the past. We select the items in the best possible way, with love and dedication. Honest descriptions and images gives a real vision of the items. The linen that we offer for sale is not new linen, unless specifically mentioned, it is second-hand and old linen. As such it may have already been washed, used or even worn. In spite of the great care we take during the preparation, small imperfections can and may escape us. They do not in any way call into question the unique and rare character of these wonderful pieces. I present you our French Antique linen unwashed, as taken out of the armoire, unless otherwise described . It is all clean, but plan to give it a wash before use.
