A French Boulle mantel clock in restored condition. France, Napoleon III period, mid-19th century. Violin-shaped case decorated with marquetry - brass foliage on the background of red faux tortoiseshell, with rich garniture of gilt bronze mounts. Preserved in excellent condition, recently restored!

Origin: France, 2nd half of the 19th century, Napoleon III (1848-1870).

Rococo style wooden case decorated with marquetry - precisely cut and engraved brass foliage on the background of red faux-tortoiseshell, with rich garniture of gilt bronze finely chiseled mounts, to include urn-shaped large finial on top. Supported on four legs.

Big dial of gilt bronze with 12 white enamel cartouches with blue Roman numerals for hours. Blued steel hands.

French Parisian movement of a good technical quality stamped with German retailers mark in oval, serial number: 4969 and pendulum parameters – 5 / 11. The same serial number is stamped on the dial's frame, what means it comes from this clock, all parts are original. The clock comes with a winding key and pendulum. Last picture shows the clock before restoration.

Dimensions: height - 31 cm; width - 14 cm; depth - 9,5 cm.;

Conditions report: case in excellent condition, recently restored. The clock was completely dismounted and re-assembled (check pictures). Minor traces of old restorations. Bronze mounts complete and very clean. Some marks and scratches, age-related marks,. Dial in very good condition, small chip to one of cartouches. Movement recently overhauled by a professional clockmaster, in working order, Check pictures for details.
