Thanks to this and the lowest professional prices in the industry plus our fast and efficient shipping method which rarely exceeds three days delivery in Europe, we are sure you will enjoy this great opportunity to own a piece of art that will appreciate in value for years to come and a great investment. Trust us to enjoy the samurai art. ITEM DESCRIPTION: Comes with kimono or cotton bag. Comes with Authenticy certificate from Supein Nihonto. Impressive and very old tachi in shirasaya. A very rare and uncommon sword due to its spectacular curvature. The tachi swords were the forerunners of the katana and were designed to be carried on horseback. They were unsheathed in reverse to katanas and thanks to their curvature they wreaked great havoc on the bodies of enemies without breaking. This sword belongs to the early Edo period although it is possible that it is earlier and belongs to the Sengoku period, a period of warfare known for its great confrontations between the eudal lords before the Tokugawa unification. The sword is in very good condition and polished but with a kizu that although not very deep is quite large. This was common in very old forged swords and identifies its age. This was due to the traditional forging process of the tamahagane where after forging these scars could be seen. Still it is a historical piece with a lot of personality and a very rare and desirable curvature. A very healthy blade with a superb polish on 95% of the blade, with only a few small details and superficial scratches that do not affect the quality and strength of the sword. You can clearly see the quality of the sword and the beautiful jihada and hamon produced by the tamahagane steel forging process that used different densities and folds to make Japanese swords, the best swords ever created. A good example of this is the fantastic condition in which it remains after almost 200 years. The koshirae depicts a samurai battle in the fuchi kashira, the saya is brown with black splashes and the edo period tsuba in classic iron style with openwork details. Part of the koshirae is later than the blade, from the beginning of the 20th century, probably updated because the original one was in bad condition, something relatively frequent in this kind of antique weapons but it still has a classic and nice style. The blade is in old japanese polish remaining in good condition, the jihada of the steel is detailed and full of details to appreciate. A masterpiece Worthly a museum and a great addition to any private collection. Blade is in very good condition due to aging. Not hagire and not fatal damage, of course. This is a japanese weapon so have a real historical value. This is a weapon not machine crafted so can be minor movements of saya, tsuka, tsuba, etc. Because of dilatation, humidity, etc. and little damages propers of his age like small rust, scratches, etc. Sold as is. An Authentic nihonto japanese sword, difficult to find in Europe, without the consequent costs of importing from Japan or from Japanese sellers, which can increase the price of the sword by up to 30% and a months waiting for shipment and custom paperwork. A truly real nihonto to delight both new and experienced collectors. All my swords are originals, imported from japan and Europe from the best dealers and collectors during many years of collection and passion.
