FANTASTIC PHOTOBOOK by FAMOUS BELGIUM MAGNUM PHOTOGRAPHER Harry Gruyaert, based in Paris.

"The first monograph dedicated to the work of Harry Gruyaert. This book offers a masterful foray into the work of one of Magnum`s most talented photographers and reveals a personal journey through color. The images that compose it offer another territory for photography: an emotional, non-narrative and radically graphic perception of the world."

"Harry Gruyaert, born in 1941, describes photography as a physical experience, a state of excitement. Heir to the American tradition embodied by Saul Leiter, Joel Meyerowitz, Stephen Shore or William Eggleston, very influenced by cinema, Harry Gruyaert has created an extremely personal chromatic palette, a dense red, a vibrant green, a way of cutting out the light and its shadows in the frame. Whether it is Belgium, Morocco, the United States, Paris or Moscow, no subject matters as such. All of them are reservoirs of inspiration and retinal impressions. In Antwerp, while playing soccer in shorts, Harry Gruyaert goes to seek the ball in the tall grass that caresses his thighs. The light is beautiful, his spirit escapes the field. The photographer describes this moment as a liberation of the senses, as the starting point of his quest for sensation."

(Elle).

(South West)

"Born in Belgium in 1941, Harry Gruyaert studied photography and film-making. He made a few films as director of photography for Flemish television before turning to color photographs in his adopted Paris in the early 1960s.
By the end of the 1970s he had travelled to the United States, India, Egypt, Japan and Morocco. The latter was a revelation to Gruyaert whose images of the country were later published in two different books. In the early 1970s, while he was living in London, he worked on a series of color television screen shots later to become the TV Shots now part of the Centre Pompidou collections. Around the same period he also photographed his homeland and produced two books, Made in Belgium and Roots."

dear marco, thanks for your feedback. happy to hear that you are happy with the content and with the condition of the book. two small corrections: auction end was: 26th, a sunday. you paid 27th. we shipped quickly (29th). you received the package on the 6th working day (what is also quick for a transport from germany to italy). by the way we have no influence on the duration (the shipping company is responsible). and: with your bids you accept the contract details, also the shipping costs (27,50 euro), which are just normal for a transport in europe with 100% protection and 100% insurance. thanks for your attention. best, ecki from now on with showroom & antiquarian bookshop: tuesday-friday 14.00-18.00 saturday 12.00-18.00 5Uhr30.com ecki heuser thebäerstr. 12 50823 cologne germany mobile: +49-172-8184000 mail: photobooks@5Uhr30.com web: www.5Uhr30.com vat-nr.: DE154811593
