"I hid in it my curiosity for the unknown" - Thus Brancusi launches the concept: sculpture for the blind.Since I got to know Brancusi's work, I have been concerned with bringing back to the fore some ideas of the sculptor from Olt in the contemporary figurative in the environment of social problems frequently encountered in the world. There is the term "dissociation" found very often in the vocabulary of psychologists, journalists, and artists.Dissociation is the most primitive element of our natural response to pain, threat and trauma. It is a way of automatically disconnecting from the whole environment. This allows us to manage overwhelming anxiety and fear by minimizing movement and energy expenditure and numbing ourselves so that we don't feel pain.I hear more and more often about people who dissociate. People who want to get rid of too much suffering. They close in on themselves. The world they created, inside them, is much softer. The current work "Sculpture for the blind" appeared after a personal experience of dissociation, following a tragic event: the death of my father. I hid my suffering in my palms and escaped into my world. The sculpture is a surrealist one. , where the hands are distorted, deformed emphasizing another dimension, not the physical one.The hands also symbolize the 'wall' between the real world (the viewer) and the imaginary world (the sculpture behind the hands). I chose Aphrodite's face because she symbolizes the beauty of paradise, she is the ideal, supreme love. The work is cast in yellowish stone dust with cement, imitating a stone dear to me, which also has certain imperfections, voids, creating an old effect.

The work will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
