Very rare Victorian mahogany tennis racket press with 2 antique tennis rackets.
These presses were used to keep your rackets straight.

This attractive and rare early tennis racket press is made of Mahogany wood with brass fittings and three screws.
The front has a brass handle. Two original screws on the side and a very old replacement with a bold old wing nut on the top. it comes complete with an original wooden divider. This press will take up to 2 Rackets.
It is not perfect, but racket presses like this are difficult to find.
Date ca. 1890. So pretty early tennis collectible.
The rackets are a little bit younger but still very old, before leather grips became in use so around 1920. One of the rackets has "double" stringing in the middle. Nice shape and use of different wood types.
This wonderful press is great for display
