He left China and in 1952 he arrived in Paris where he met Karel Appel, Alechinsky and Asger Jorn who were members of the Cobra group.In 1957 he moved to New York where he was influenced by Pop Art and abstract expressionism.His paintings often include cats, birds, naked women and other animals. Often painted with lots of colour.He moved to Amsterdam in 1990 Walasse Ting's work can be found in major museums including the MoMa in New York, the Gugenheim.
