“Tokyo Biyori” is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki and his wife Yoko Araki. The project started in the July issue of the monthly magazine “Science of Thought” in 1989 but it was suspended in the September issue due to Yoko's hospitalization, she, then, died in January 1990. This book gathers three episodes: a beautiful essay by Yoko, a memoir of Araki written after the death of Yoko, and a picture of his search of Yoko's features alone in Tokyo.
Tokyo Biyori was also the title of the biographical film about the late Yoko Araki.
Enjoy the selection and - like always:

with signature, dedication and drawing from photographer to photographer, by Nobuyoshi Araki to Wilmar Koenig (see above).
Nobuyoshi Araki was born in Tokyo in 1940. Given a camera by his father at the ripe age of twelve, Araki has been taking pictures ever since. He studied photography and film at Chiba University and went into commercial photography soon after graduating. In 1970 he created his famous Xeroxed Photo Albums, which he produced in limited editions and sent to friends, art critics, and people selected randomly from the telephone book. Over the years, his bold, unabashed photographs of his private life have been the object of a great deal of controversy and censorship (especially in his native Japan), a fact that has not fazed the artist nor diminished his influence.

Zobacz tłumaczeniePrachtig boek! Goed verpakt ontvangen. Echter: het te veel gebruikte inpaktape is heel erg agressief: bij het uitpakken kan het zelfs de inhoud van het pakket beschadigen. Hg. KvZ
Zobacz tłumaczeniethank you for your positive feedback! the parcel tape protects the book from moisture and humidity and prevents the book from bumping (because it slides back and forth). this is very important. of course, the parcel tape never comes into direct contact with the book, the cover or the publisher's original plastic film. best wishes! ecki heuser, owner of "5Uhr30.com"
