A large and impressive Fetish Statue Bulu/boulou. Covered with a fine patina and a smooth rubbed face due to tribal ceremonial use.

The Bulu, located in the border area between Cameroon and Gabon, are part of the Fang group. The Bulu also practiced the Ngil ritual to fight against witchcraft and poisoning. Ngi is the gorilla, a formidable animal with which the applicant identifies after his acceptance into the secret society. Their monkey or gorilla statues are notable for their round and simple shapes and for their great accuracy in observing the animal's attitude. The Bulu admit that there is a part of their ancestors in the symbolism of the monkey/gorilla
