This vivid lithographic poster in seven colors was created for an exhibition of paintings by various artists from Impressionism to modernism in 1958 at the Art Museum in Rouen. The image was based on a later painting by Fernand Leger from 1952, and reproduced faithfully by Mourlot Master printer, Henri Deschamps, who had been assigned to Leger as early as the 1930's.

The edition was 2,000 and most of these posters having been used on the walls of the city to promote the exhibition, very few survived.
