According to Bruichladdich, the whiskies from the Octomore series are the most heavily peated single malt whiskies in the world. Bruichladdich Octomore 6.1 smells like the coast of Islay, of sea spray, seaweed and a hint of oily iodine. This is followed by smoky notes of peat, black pepper, heather and lemon balm. On the palate, there are flavors of barley malt, sweet oak and vanilla, as well as rye bread and walnuts. Bruichladdich Octomore 6.1 also carries notes of fresh limes, apples and pears.
