Società Costruzione Articoli Tecnici, based in Rome, was active as a manufacturer of photographic equipment in the period between 1949 and the early 50s, building a single camera named after the company itself, the SCAT. It is a very small metal microcamera that uses 16mm film in special magazines on which it produces 8x11mm images. The shutter has a single unspecified time. The lens has an aperture of 1:3.5 and a focal length of 29 mm, with adjustable focus from 1.5 metres to infinity; to frame the subject to be photographed, an iconometric viewfinder in two parts, both removable, is used. There are three versions of this device: the second version, like the one on sale, has a green filter instead of the diaphragms to vary the brightness of the lens. A metal plate screwed onto the device closes the gap left by the removal of the aperture lever on the first model. The one on sale is in perfect condition, with no dents or marks. The shutter releases as follows at single speed. The optics have clean lenses and no scratches. A rare mini camera to find, especially in these conditions, also considering that the one on auction is the second very rare model. The camera measures: 40x29x48mm weight 65gr. The camera comes with its original box, leather pouch, manual and test card, a green filter. It is a must for any Italian collection. I will ship by UPS private courier.
