This is an interesting and larger scarab for Thutmose III with an old provenance. The scarab was bought circa
100 years ago at „Blanchard`s Egyptian Museum“, one of the major and famous dealer in Cairo.
R.H. Blanchard was an American who came to Egypt in 1905 to work for the consular service, became one of
the major antiquities dealer in Cairo. His shop, established in 1910 and was located at Shepheard`s Hotel.

The scarab is inscribed with a striding royal sphinx, above “Men-Kheper-Re“ (Tuthmose III) in a cartouche and
in front two rearing uraei.
The scarab is attached to an old card from the „Blanchard`s Egyptian Museum“, ca. 7,5 cm x 5cm, one kink is
torn (see second picture).
