Richard Grant White (May 23, 1822 – April 8, 1885) was one of the foremost literary and musical critics of his day. He was also a prominent Shakespearean scholar, journalist, social critic, and lawyer. He was born and died in New York City.
About Luis Borg:
In the years following the U.S. Civil War, the United States and Monaco, both established states, began trade relations. Although the Prince of Monaco appointed Louis Borg his consul to the United States in New York on May 19, 1865, almost another year passed before Borg was able to present his official credentials to the United States government. Borg, who was already working as chancellor of the French consulate in New York, had to obtain special authority from the Emperor of the French, Napoleon III, in order to also be able to hold the office of Monegasque consul. This exemption was granted and in May 1866 Borg was fully accredited by the United States as consul for the Principality of Monaco.
