Here we have such a fabulous 19th Century watercolour by a follower of John Constable 1776-1837. The painting is a typical example from this very renowned artist and features a view of Dedham Lock and Mill. With Constable’s typical style he has included a white horse. Figures are operating the flush gates so they can travel on down the canal. The painting is signed lower left in black John Constable. The frame carries a plaque with the artists name on. Please note the very important stencil markings on the back which indicated that this painting has previously been sold by the famous auction house Christie’s in London giving this painting absolutely great provenance. A well constructed painting that would grace any wall in your home.
Provenance: Previously Sold at Christie’s, London
In fairly good condition for its age with watermark top left and comes framed. Please view the photographs as part of the description. The frame and glazing are a gift no compensation given if damaged in transit.
