Born in 1934 in Tokyo, Tanaka Shoho studied under Nakamura Shundo and is known for his subtle yet powerful portrayals of traditional Japanese landscapes. He currently resides in Matsudo City.
"Red Fuji" refers to the phenomenon where Mount Fuji appears red at sunrise, particularly during early autumn. This striking image is a symbol of good fortune and has been a favorite subject in Japanese art, capturing the beauty and spiritual significance of Japan's most revered mountain.
The scroll is mounted on silk and comes with its original wooden storage box, both signed and sealed by the artist. The scroll ends are made of resin, and although there are some age-related stains, the piece remains in good condition.
